dear moon, may this reach you...
as an artist who is candid about a lot of things, from my diy background to my experiences with queerness, disability, and survivorship, i've looked into a lot of resources and approaches over the years, as well as made my own. if folks resonate with my work, they might resonate with this stuff, too!
vancouver/bc-based resources for queerness, disability, survivorship, mental health
- salal: their free counselling program genuinely saved me life and helped me find myself again after i developed ptsd. intersectional, survivor-centred organization.
- qmunity: really lovely provincial queer org with peer groups, counselling, and more!
- autismbc: an autistic organization dedicated to lived experience and advocacy?! never thought i'd see the day! i believe their resources helped me find the doctor who would eventually diagnose me.
- foundry: the only org on this list i don't have any firsthand experience with, but i've heard great things! free youth wellness resources.
free music resources
surprise, i have a whole zine for this! this is from 2024 so it might be out of date, but if someone asks, i can whip up a 2026 edition :)
my music setup, for the curious
- daw: fl studio
- recording setup: sm58 + focusrite scarlett audio interface
- suzuki qchord and omnichord for the weird synthy sounds in so much of my stuff
- a very long list of freeware that i'll eventually compile, i swear...
free digital resources
- so you feel like shit: a flowchart for possible reasons you're feeling crummy. this has saved me a lot as an autistic person tbh.
- does the dog die: an invaluable site for content warnings, for folks who might need it.
- purrli: free cat purrs! what's not to love!
- pronoun dressing room: try new pronouns out!
- breathe.zip: soothing visual breathing exercise guide i quite enjoy.
- ripples: i don't even remember where i found this, but it turns ur screen into a stim toy pretty much. what's not to love?
